The IWBOAI was started in Aug 2004 as a forum for women business owners to exchange information and ideas to help grow their businesses as well as to help increase their visibility in business.

The name INTERLAKE was chosen to include all women business owners in the Interlake and be able to network with them to access a wider range of ideas and business techniques.

The IWBOAI has grown since then, to include a membership of 35 women business owners from a diverse job market such as gift shop, floral, restaurant, jewellery, catering, publishing, beauty, financial planning, artists, business consulting, bed and breakfast, building supplies, health, berry producer, retail and art gallery.

The goal of the IWBOAI is to provide resources for our members to help with the various challenges facing rural women business owners.
